There, we can’t get any clearer than that.

Here’s the deal.

We’ve had people write to us commenting about the fact there are some pretty well-known Asian players around, and they are talking about players from China, Japan, South Korea.

Asian soccer star is about the journey of a 13 year old British Asian kid, of Indian origin, trying to fulfil his dream of playing professional soccer.

Along the journey we will share his trials and tribulations, training, nutrition and mental development. This is to inspire other kids from the UK and abroad to follow their dreams.

There are two issues we need to clarify:

In Europe, when we say Asian we are referring to people who originated from the Indian subcontinent, or South Asians as they refer to us in North America. When we use the term ‘Asian’ we refer to people from the Indian subcontinent – India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.

We use the word ‘soccer’ in place of ‘football’ because we have many readers from North America where soccer is the correct term for European football. Using the word football ranks us under American style football on the search engines and it gets confusing. To be consistent and be available to readers worldwide we decided on soccer because of its universal appeal.

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, we hope you continue to find nuggets of information on the blog to inspire.
